Texts: John 3:1-6,15-17; Romans 10:9-10
Memory Verse
''Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily Isay unto thee, exceptt a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God'' (John 3:3)
Focus: To understand the requirements to becoming a kingdom citizen
Introduction:
To be a kingdom citizen is to be legally recognized as a member and resident of God's kingdom. In God's kingdom, the only access to citizenship is by birth which only comes on he platform of letting go of the old man and accepting the new man made available by the death and ressurection of Jesus Christ. There is a need to have a deep understanding of how this citizenship was made available and how we can gain access to it.
Discussion
1. What are the conditions to becoming a kingdom citizen?
- Hearing the Word. Ephesians 1:13, Romans 10:13-17.
-Believing the word. Romans 1:16-17, Romans 10:9-10, Acts 6:30-31.
- Confessing Jesus. Philipians 2:9-11, Acts 2:21, 1 John 4:15
2. Let class members share their salvation experience.
Conclusion
Becoming a kingdom citizen involves a transitioin from an old life of sin to a new life of loving obedience to Jesus christ. Those who are born again are set free from sin's bondage(Romans 6:1-2,14). As believers, our desires are changed so as to love God sincerely and endeavour to please God as kingdom citizens.
